Aromatic RPO Definition

Aromatic Rubber Process Oil (RPO) is a type of processing oil used in the rubber and tire industry. It is derived from the distillation of crude oil and is characterized by a high content of aromatic hydrocarbons.

The first characteristics of aromatic hydrocarbons are the presence of the double guaranteed combine ring carbon structure. Aromatic extracts procured from chosen refineries and appropriately homogenized to satisfy tight specifications, are used for combination batches to manufacture Tyres, calendared and molded sheets, Tread rubber etc. It is Aromatic grade of rubber process oil, dark in color. it’s a primary aromatic hydrocarbon, blended with carefully selected aromatic extracts. Witprol A-711 is appropriate To be employed in the manufacture of automobile tyres, beltings, mats, shaped rubber components Etc. it’s good solvency & is compatible with wide range of rubbers like NR, SBR and PBR. Wipro A-25 could be a low viscosity oil that reduces viscosity of compound & improve processing Rubber process oil (RPO) are used during mix of rubber compounds. These help in improving the dispersion of fillers and flow characteristics of the compound during any processing. IPOL Rubber process oil are specially developed taking into thought the kind of rubber and therefore the end product applications. Aromatic extender oil well-known according to its viscosity which meet ASTM D-445 and Kinematic viscosity of transparent and opaque liquids HS code 27079900 it has different grades famous as high(heavy), medium, low(light) viscosity, TDAE , MES and DAE .The primary characteristics of aromatic hydrocarbons are the presence of the double bonded mix ring carbon structure. Aromatic furfural extract rubber process oil (RPO) procured from selected refineries and suitably blended to meet stringent specifications, are used for compounding batches to manufacture tires, lactic, automotive tires and tubes, bi-cycle tires, tire re-treading materials, belting, hoses, battery casings and containers, extruded products, technical molded goods and rubber articles with reclaim rubber due to high solvency., calendared and molded sheets, Tread rubber TDAE oil. Also, process oil (furfural extract) has a color stability, solubility and good thermal stability makes RPO ideal for molded articles, slippers, LPG tubes, floor tiles, etc.

Aromatic RPOs are particularly valued for their ability to improve the elasticity, flexibility, and resilience of rubber compounds. They also aid in the dispersion of fillers and other additives within the rubber matrix, resulting in more uniform and consistent products.

Characteristics of Aromatic RPO

Aromatic Rubber Process Oils (RPO) possess several distinctive characteristics that make them suitable for rubber manufacturing:

  • High Aromatic Content : Aromatic RPOs have a high percentage of aromatic hydrocarbons, which enhances their compatibility with rubber polymers.
  • Good Solvency : They have excellent solvency for rubber polymers, aiding in the uniform mixing and dispersion of fillers and additives.
  • Improved Processability : Aromatic RPOs improve the processability of rubber compounds, making them easier to handle during manufacturing.
  • Enhanced Elasticity and Flexibility : They enhance the elasticity and flexibility of the final rubber product, contributing to better performance in applications requiring these properties.
  • Thermal Stability : These oils provide good thermal stability, allowing the rubber to maintain its properties at various temperatures.
  • Plasticizing Effect : Aromatic RPOs act as plasticizers, reducing the viscosity of rubber compounds and facilitating easier processing.
  • Dark Color : Due to their high aromatic content, these oils typically have a dark color, which might affect the color of the final rubber product.
  • Moisture Resistance : They improve the moisture resistance of rubber products, enhancing durability and longevity.

Applications of Aromatic RPO

Aromatic Rubber Process Oils (RPO) are widely used in various applications due to their beneficial properties. Some key applications include:

  1. Tire Manufacturing : Aromatic RPOs are extensively used in the production of tires. They enhance the elasticity, flexibility, and overall performance of the tire rubber compounds.
  2. Automotive Parts : These oils are used in the production of various automotive rubber parts, such as hoses, belts, gaskets, and seals, where improved durability and performance are essential.
  3. Industrial Rubber Goods : Aromatic RPOs are utilized in manufacturing industrial rubber products like conveyor belts, rubber mats, gaskets, seals, and vibration dampers.
  4. Footwear : In the footwear industry, aromatic RPOs are used to produce rubber soles and other components, providing flexibility and wear resistance.
  5. Adhesives and Sealants : They are employed in the production of rubber-based adhesives and sealants, where good elasticity and adhesion properties are required.
  6. Rubberized Fabrics : Aromatic RPOs are used in the production of rubberized fabrics for applications like waterproof clothing, tents, and protective covers.
  7. Electrical Insulation : These oils are used in manufacturing rubber products for electrical insulation, where thermal stability and resistance to environmental factors are important.
  8. Sporting Goods : They are used in producing various rubber sporting goods, such as balls, grips, and protective gear, where flexibility and durability are crucial.
  9. Construction Materials : Aromatic RPOs are utilized in producing rubber components used in construction, such as expansion joints, rubber flooring, and weatherproofing materials.
  10. Miscellaneous Applications : They are also used in a wide range of other rubber products, including hoses, profiles, and molded goods, where enhanced processing and performance characteristics are desired.
