Urea Definition
Urea 46% Fertilizer Grade also known as carbamide is a compound formed in the liver from ammonia produced by the deamination of amino acids. It is the principal end product of protein catabolism and constitutes about one half of the total urinary solids. Urea 46% Fertilizer Grade is a nitrogenous compound containing a carbonyl group attached to two amine groups with osmotic diuretic activity. In vivo, carbamide is formed in the liver via the urea cycle from ammonia and is the final end product of protein metabolism. Administration of urea elevates blood plasma osmolality, resulting in enhanced flow of water from tissues, including the brain, cerebrospinal fluid and eye, into interstitial fluid and plasma, thereby decreasing pressure in those tissues and increasing urine outflow. Urea 46% Fertilizer Grade is a highly soluble organic compound formed in the liver from ammonia produced by the deamination of amino acids. It is the principal end product of protein catabolism and constitutes about one half of the total urinary solids. carbamide is formed in a cyclic pathway known simply as the urea cycle. In this cycle, amino groups donated by ammonia and L-aspartate are converted to carbamide. Urea 46% Fertilizer Grade is essentially a waste product; it has no physiological function. It is dissolved in blood (in humans in a concentration of 2. 5 – 7. 5 mmol/liter) and excreted by the kidney in the urine. In addition, a small amount of urea is excreted (along with sodium chloride and water) in human sweat. Urea is found to be associated with primary hypomagnesemia, which is an inborn error of metabolism.
Iran exports its urea to Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey due to its Turkish shareholder. We also export our products in European and South American markets.
Applications Urea 46% Fertilizer Grade
Urea 46% is a highly concentrated nitrogen fertilizer commonly used in agriculture. Here are some of its primary applications:
- Soil Application : It can be applied directly to the soil and is often used in pre-planting or side-dressing to provide essential nitrogen to crops.
- Foliar Application : Urea can be dissolved in water and sprayed onto the leaves of plants. This method is effective for providing a quick nitrogen boost.
- Blending : Urea is often blended with other fertilizers to create balanced nutrient mixes for various crops.
- Controlled-Release Fertilizers : Urea can be processed into slow-release formulations to provide a steady supply of nitrogen over time.
- Industrial Uses : Beyond agriculture, urea is used in the production of resins, adhesives, and in the automotive industry for selective catalytic reduction to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.
- Animal Feed : Urea can be used as a non-protein nitrogen source in animal feed, particularly for ruminants like cattle.
When using urea fertilizer, it is important to manage its application carefully to avoid volatilization losses and to ensure efficient nitrogen uptake by plants.

Characteristics Urea 46%
Urea 46% fertilizer grade is a highly effective nitrogen fertilizer widely used in agriculture. Here are some key characteristics:
- Chemical Composition:
– Contains 46% nitrogen by weight.
– Chemical formula: CO(NH₂)₂. - Physical Properties :
– Typically available as white granules or prills.
– Hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air).
– Highly soluble in water. - Nutrient Release :
– Rapidly converts to ammonium (NH₄⁺) and then nitrate (NO₃⁻) in the soil, making nitrogen readily available to plants.
– Can be subject to volatilization losses if not properly incorporated into the soil. - Application :
– Can be applied directly to the soil or used in foliar sprays.
– Often blended with other fertilizers to provide a balanced nutrient supply. - Handling and Storage :
– Requires proper storage to prevent moisture absorption, which can cause caking.
– Non-flammable and generally safe to handle with standard safety precautions. - Benefits :
– High nitrogen content makes it a cost-effective nitrogen source.
– Enhances plant growth, improves crop yield, and promotes healthy foliage. - Environmental Considerations :
– Overuse can lead to leaching of nitrates into groundwater.
– Proper management is essential to minimize environmental impact.
